This course is the foundation of technical diving. In this course, you will push the limits of recreational diving, mastering safe, planned decompression techniques. The Tec 40 course consists of three knowledge development sections, three practical application sessions, and six training dives.
You will learn about:
- Risks and responsibilities of technical diving.
- Technical diving equipment, assembly, and proper configuration.
- Gas planning, oxygen limits, and decompression planning.
- Diving techniques and emergency procedures, such as handling continuous flows, manifold leaks, and gas depletion situations.
To enroll in a Tec 40 course, you must be a PADI Advanced, Open Water Diver, or PADI Enriched Air Diver with at least 10 dives using enriched air to depths greater than 18 meters/60 feet. Be a PADI Deep Diver or demonstrate at least 10 dives to 30 meters/100 feet. Be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of 30 logged dives.
